NNPP NATIONAL CHAIRMAN'S SPEECH AT THE STAKEHOLDERS MEETING/ WORLD PRESS CONFERENCE HELD IN ABUJA RECENTLY

SPEECH BY THE NATIONAL CHAIRMAN OF THE NEW NIGERIA PEOPLES PARTY (NNPP), DR. AGBO GILBERT MAJOR (PhD), AT THE WORLD PRESS CONFERENCE HELD ON 27TH APRIL, 2026, AT MAYO HOTEL, GARKI, ABUJA

Gentlemen of the press, distinguished party leaders, members of our great party, invited guests, ladies and gentlemen,

On behalf of the Founder of our great party, Dr Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam and all members of our great party, I welcome you all to this important World Press Conference convened by the leadership of the New Nigeria Peoples Party.

Dr Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam                Founder/ Chairman BOT NNPP

Today, we address critical issues concerning the progress of our party, the ongoing electronic membership registration exercise, recent political developments, and matters affecting internal party administration and INEC as we continue preparations towards the 2027 general elections.

Let me state with great satisfaction that the NNPP’s electronic membership registration exercise, which was launched two weeks ago has recorded encouraging progress across the federation. In line with our commitment to transparency, accountability and inclusiveness, the leadership of the party has commenced a comprehensive review of the exercise.

To this end, we invited critical stakeholders, aspirants, zonal chairmen, state chairmen and other relevant officials of the party to assess the level of implementation, identify areas requiring improvement, and strengthen the process for greater efficiency.

Our goal remains to build a credible, technology-driven political institution that reflects the aspirations of Nigerians.

The NNPP as a registered political party wishes to categorically distance itself from the just concluded opposition parties summit held in Ibadan by the coalition group which is being reported in the media.

Let it be clearly stated that none of the recognised leaders of our great party attended that gathering, nor was the party represented in any official capacity. The presence of notable faces of our expelled members should not be misconstrued to mean membership of our great party in the coalition.

We therefore call on the leadership of the coalition to be cautious and ensure that impostors do not use the name of the NNPP to deceive them and demand unmerited relevance or favour.

Dr Agbo Gilbert Major (PhD)                               National Chairman, NNPP

Furthermore, the leadership of the NNPP held a productive meeting with the Independent National Electoral Commission on Thursday, 23rd April 2026.

During that engagement, we reiterated our expectation that the commission shall, without further delay, take the necessary steps regarding the court orders/judgements to upload the duly recognised National Working Committee led by my humble self, Dr. Agbo Gilbert Major on its official portal.

It is our hope that INEC  shall take seriously the obligation and responsibility of ensuring that rule of law prevails in a democracy. If INEC continue to disobey court orders, we shall be constrained to join other well-meaning Nigerians to press for the removal of the chairman in the interest of national unity and sustainable democracy in Nigeria.

We also wish to condemn in strong terms what we consider an unlawful and criminal act allegedly carried out by an expelled member of our great party.

Dr Ahmed Ajuji

It is on record that Dr Ahmed Ajuji is a member of the African Democratic Congress, it is therefore surprising and strange to us that his name and signature are found in a letter inviting INEC to a verification exercise of the outlawed members.

Such actions amount to impersonation, misrepresentation and a direct violation of valid judicial pronouncements, particularly the judgment of the Court of Appeal.

It's our hope that he should investigate who may be faking his name and signature to avoid police intervention.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me also state that the NNPP has formally submitted its schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections to INEC and us following the activities therein.

We therefore urge the electoral commission to respect and obey all subsisting court judgments from Uzuakoli, the FCT High Courts, and the Owerri Court of Appeal.

No institution in a constitutional democracy should act contrary to valid and binding judicial decisions. Failure to comply with these judgments may leave the party with no option but to seek further judicial review.

For the avoidance of doubt, judgments delivered by the Abia High Court in 2024, Justice M.A. Hassan, Justice Kawu of the FCT High Court in 2025, and the recent Owerri Court of Appeal judgment of April 2026, all affirmed the dismissal of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the Kwankwassiya group and the entire defunct NWC members of our great party led by Dr Ahmed Ajuji.

These judgments remain valid and have not been set aside on appeal or stayed. Consequently, persons such as Bala Mohammed, Dipo Olayoku, Onu Nwaeze and others cannot continue to parade themselves as members of the NNPP or speak on behalf of the party.

The party will not hesitate to commence appropriate criminal and civil proceedings against any person or group that continues to impersonate the NNPP or mislead the Nigerian public.

As we approach the 2027 elections, we call on INEC to act swiftly on all unattended court judgements, enforce them without further delay due to time constraints.

The NNPP remains committed to internal democracy, rule of law, national development and the emergence of credible leadership for our dear country.

We thank members of the press for your continued dedication to truth and public enlightenment. Our great party stands as the beautiful bride at the moment ahead of the 2027 general election.

Any politician who believe in the idea of a New Nigeria is invited to join us and run fur positions up to the presidential level.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

God bless the New Nigeria Peoples Party.

Signed

Dr. Agbo Gilbert Major (PhD).
