The above titled article made the news recently where one Abbas Babatunde the Media Co ordinator for South west Renaissance Group alleged of a physical altercation between prominent South West political figures during a recent Wike/Tinubu national convention logistics meeting in Abuja.

Abbas noted that the former Lagos State PDP Chairman and Now Newly Elected PDP Southwest Vice Chairman, Deji Doherty, and the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, allegedly engaged in a "boxing match" over the management of a N10 million mobilization fund provided by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for all the states and Abuja.

Connect Tv correspondent in its investigative bid sort an exclusive interview with the Southwest PDP Vice Chairman, Deji Doherty at his office to clear the air and this is what he had to say....

Coming in terms with the reality after our interview with him...... firstly, Former Gov Fayose and Engr Doherty are both hardworking entrepreneurs and businesses men so it is impossible for a N10m mobilisation fund to cause a so called " fistcuff" with both gentlemen! The writer is certainly trying to create a false impression of these two (2) gentlemen that are leaders loyal to the National Leader ! What these Bode George,  Makinde , Tokunbo Pearse people don't know is that we  are all watching them !!!!! 

Since they have been beaten hands down on all fronts as he affirmed, they are looking for others that they could pull down with themselves while they get buried politically . They are so daft that they don't know that the delegates to the convention are statutory and not in their words hired! 


The former Lagos State PDP Chairman reterated that his pedigree and long experience as a pdp chieftain has really shaped him into the person who he is presently, reliable, purposeful, pragmatic, selfless, loyal, disciplined and above all a Godly man.    

In his inclusive transparent nature, Doherty opened up that the amount in discuss was given to State Chairmen of  the various states for their delegates by the Party ( PDP) and not the FCT Minister 

 It was to be spent on TRANSPORTATION  TO AND FRO ABUJA ( luxurious bus which is about N5m),  FEEDING TO AND FRO, LODGING (if necessary) COSTUMES , and other  unforseen expenses for about 75 delegates. 

"Definitely he said, this must be the hand of the servants of the  devil which they are"


Doherty , said that he had known the Former Gov for over 35 years while they were struggling youngmen and they had both executed lots of  businesses worth millions  in the past , so N10m naira can not cause any friction between both of them now !

Finally, Doherty explained that Gov Fayose still remains his leader, friend, Brother and Confidant till date !
