NNPP celebrates Abuja Court victory in Lagos against Sen Musa Kwankwaso


Members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) on Wednesday, stormed the office of its founder, Dr Boniface Aniebonam in Apapa, Lagos, to celebrate their win in an Abuja High Court, against the Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso  led group. 

The members, including members of NAGAFF,  seen dancing and thanking God for their win at the court. 


The Federal Capital Territory High Court Abuja on Tuesday, compelled INEC to recognise the Agbo Major led National Working Committee of the NNPP and reject the Kwankwasiya Movement led by Kwankwaso, the party's 2023 presidential candidate.                                                      Recall that litigations have continued to trail attempts by Kwankwaso and his group to hijack the NNPP from its founder, Aniebonam.

In a swift reaction on Tuesday, the Kwankwasiya Movement in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary.    , Ladipo Johnson Esq. said the judgment represents a dangerous low in the nation's  judicial history.

Johnson said the judgment, delivered by Justice Bello Kawu  was  "patently illegal and logically defiant, saying the group will appeal the judgment.

Speaking with journalists, Aniebonam said that it is sad that a lawyer like Johnson should join faceless commentators to deride and attack judges in a most acerbic language.

"As a lawyer, Johnson should have known that they cannot approach an Appeal Court again over the judgment because  an appeal on the NNPP  matter is pending at the Appeal Court in Owerri, Imo State, over a ruling delivered on an application they brought on the same matter before Justice  Okorafor of  the Abia  High Court .

"Johnson should have known that they cannot approach any other appeal court as a lawyer, pending the outcome of the  appeal court in Owerri . If they do it shall amount to abuse of court processes and their suit shall appear incompetent and voided 


"It is on record that the ruling and judgment delivered  by Justice Kawu was based on judicial complaint to compel INEC to obey the judgment of the Federal Capital Territory High Court Abuja.

"Using acerbic  utterances against Judges because you lost a case is most unfortunate and regrettable."


Aniebonam noted that  he registered the NNPP  in 2001, while  Kwankwaso, elder Buba Galadima and the Kwankwasiya Movement joined  the party in 2022  based on a Memorandum of understanding. 

"Today,  Kwankwaso and Galadima are struggling and fighting hard with their two hands to hijack NNPP' even after the Memorandum ended and they were expelled fromthe party 

"The victory of the judicial review today can now explain to  the people of Kano State , the real reason why Gov.  Abbah Yusuf  defected to the  APC and citing escalating court cases. 

"Kwankwaso betrayed our trust and like they say, he who murders sleep will sleep no more," Aniebonam added.





The celebration which witnessed Thanksgiving session, food and drinks,  was graced by media practitioners, friend and well wishers, dignitaries, players and stakeholders from all Nagaff and NNPP members saw abee hive of celebration as they danced and merried with great joy and happiness over the victory.

The founder affirmed that the party has always been on course and will continually be accommodative to any Nigerian who seeks progress in mind.                                       Stateing that, all Nomination forms from NNPP for 2027 Nigeria National elections for elective positions, will be automatically free.        "This will give vibrant and articulate men and women who possess the required attitude to contribute in making our Nigeria a great Nation an opportunity to test their popularity without money been a hindrance".
