 Proposed U.S investigations of Kwankwaso on terrorism act most unfortunate-- NNPP 

The Dr Agbo Major Gilbert led New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) on Thursday described the proposal by U.S lawmakers to investigate and sanction its 2023 presidential candidate, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso and others as unfortunate. 

The party said this in a statement signed by its National Vice Chairman, Northwest, Alhaji Sani Danmasani.

Recall that United States lawmakers introduced a bill aimed at addressing alleged religious persecution and mass killings of Christians in Nigeria, including a proposed terrorist designation for Fulani militias and sanctions against certain Nigerian individuals and groups, including Kwankwaso.

Danmasani wondered why news of the alleged complicity of Kwankwaso terrorism acts is jilting Buba Galadima, the Kwankwasiya Movement and other followers of the NNPP 2023 presidential candidate.


"The sudden medical trip of Kwankwaso overseas have resulted in the disappearance of key officers of his group from the Federal Capital Territory and Kano State.

"Dr Ahmed Ajuji and others including Mr Dipo Oayoku, Prince Onu Nweze, and Bar Ladipo Johnson among others are alleged to have gone into hiding while some of them fled to their home states.              "Kwankwaso is not guilty until found guilty and so his followers have failed by presuming him guilty and running both in Kano and Abuja.

"The most disheartening thing is that some of the kwankwasiya members in kano and adjourned states started throwing their red caps to the dustbins for fear of the unknown 

"It's a fact that at a time like this, you can only but avoid Trump by running away from the scene of action.

"More still is that the illegal office of the NNPP under the leadership of Kwankwaso and Ajuji led NWC in Abuja have been abandoned and the secretariat staff ran for safety and cover,"

According to the NNPP chieftain, it is equally apparent that the EFCC and ICPC may be at the verge of concluding discrete investigations over the reported cases of financial mismanagement of the NNPP account from 2022 to 2025.

"Obviously, Gov Ahmed Yusuf may have seen all these on time, leading to his defection to APC in the interest of Kano State indigenes and self protection.

The party stated that Kwankwaso will have to face the investigation alone but not as a member of the NNPP, he has been expelled. According to him, what is certain is that the NNPP 2027 presidential ticket will not be for Kwankwaso or those who think that the party shall be a fall back option should they fail in the ADC primary election. 

Every registered political party in Nigeria is our sister party, we do not have issues with anybody or any political party in Nigeria, and we can not be used for personal vendetta.


Buba Galadima who was seen this morning belt on Arise television live lamenting and blaming the media for not being fair to Kwankwaso was a shadow of himself.

The lessons herein is that Kwankwaso, Elder Buba Galadima and Gov Yusuf should have fear of God in dealing with people who are nicely to them in the time of difficulties
