SEJIRO AVOSEH, BORN NIGERIAN ARTIST IN UK. MAKES HISTORY WITH "FACES OF NOWHERE"


SEJIRO AVOSEH DEBUTS "FACES OF NOWHERE"

Nigeria born artist Sejiro Avoseh relocated his family from their hometown of Lagos to the United Kingdom in pursuit of opportunities only a few years ago. Sejiro's ambition for his wife, children and artistic expression is insatiable. Always thinking of the future, he ruminates on the source of discomfort in Nigeria - Colonialism, particularly while residing in England.

He recalls tender moments in his new life with friends and family intertwined with internal conflicts. The painting translates bold colors evoking emotional extremity. Sejiro confronts rage in his work, all while savouring his new capacity for joy. His seamless layering of images Is a nod to abstract expressionism brought to life by vibrant intense brush Strokes.

As life unfolds, he condescends a range of fervor unto and beyond the canvas in 'Pose at Untitled’ he captures the excitement of his children visiting his solo booth at the Art Fair in Miami. Eyes, legs and mouth slowly revels themselves in the Frantic energy of the thick oil paint. In 'Still looking back' there is see sentimental for what's been lost in the post colonial conditions of Nigerian juxtaposing Sejiro's blazing optimism.

"FACES OF NOWHERE" will open concurrently at Kravet Wehby Gallery and A hug from the Art's world on Thursday, June 13th with a reception from 6- 8pm.

The exhibition would run till Wednesday June 19th, 2024.
