KADUNA AIRSTRIKE: TWO OFFICERS TO FACE COURT-MARTIAL
MILITARY TO COURT-MARTIAL TWO OFFICERS OVER KADUNA AIRSTRIKE.
The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has said two of its officers involved in the Tudun Biri, Kaduna State mistaken air strike that killed over 70 persons are “to face a court martial for acts of omission or commission with respect to the incident.
Director, Defence Media Operation, Major General Edward Buba, disclosed this in Abuja on Thursday.
He said the board of inquiry into the Tudun Biri incident has concluded investigations.
General Buba noted that the military conducted a painstaking investigation into the incident. He added that they had initiated disciplinary action against those culpable.
General Buba reiterated that, the Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, officers and personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria console with the families and loved ones of all those killed by the sad air strike.
The military will take extra precautions in the future to ensure that non-combatants are safe
General Buba also read the riot act to members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, saying that the sit-at-home being observed in the South East, was “dead and gone”.
He warned them to desist from issuing empty threats about the planned sit-at-home order slated for the 13th of May in celebration of fallen heroes in the South-East.
