HOJ FOUNDATION FLAGGED OFF ITS INTERNATIONAL ANNUAL COOKING COMPETITION "SPICE IT UP LAGOS" 2.0
HOJ Foundation in Partnership with Power Oil Presents "Spice It Up 2.0" Annual Cooking Competition Flag off.
In commoration of the world food day this October 16th, 2024, HOJ Foundation herald by Hon Okey-Joe Onuakalusi, Member House of Reps, representing Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency 2, in partnership with Power Oil flagged off its annual cooking competition tagged "Spice it up Lagos" 2.0. The flag off witnessed dignitaries and personalities from the Oba of Ejigbo, the Seriki Hausa Okota , Seriki Hausa of Isolo and. Chiefs, National Youth Council President Ejigbo all graced the event within Lagos.
The Executive Director of HOJ Foundation Mazi Okechukwu Bismarck Oji who took the key note address brought to limelight the key objectives of the HOJ Foundation ,which bothers on discouraging religious and ethnic biase, in all we do been a major propelling force of HoJ's involvement in the project. To remove the idea of segregation in tribes, gender or affiliation noting that, cooking is not only meant for women but men inclusive as a tool towards unification.
Mrs Ofomata Uchenna, the Programs Director of the event, expressed that cooking transcends not just best skills but cuts across diverse cultures and tribes.
Fostering creativity, community building, engagement to showcase unique styles, techniques and flare by encouraging creativity and experimentation.

Tracing the inception of this competition, from last year 2023 which was showcased only in Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency have witnessed a shift this year 2024 to encompass Lagos in its entirety. Affirming that 'Spice it up Lagos' 3.0, will be extended Nationally been an annual international event come next year 2025.

Okey-Joe, Mazi (Dr) Chuks Nwosu intimated the media that the event is simply to harness new talents in order to empower them thereby easing financial burdens apparent on the beneficiaries, creating new entrepreneurs with an effective and efficient change in their business, lives and those around them.
Winner Last Season "Spice It Up Lagos 1.0" Amaka Peace Gyrus
The winner of 'Spice it up Lagos 1.0, Miss Amaka Peace Gyrus praised the HOJ Foundation and it's leadership for coming up with this humane program aimed at affecting the lives of the people positively while encouraging the would be lucky contestants to be focused and utilize the opportunity provided by the Honourable.

Stating the criteria for the program which is open to both gender between the ages of twenty (20) and forty (40) years, Sandra Paul one of the HOJ Foundation Committee member, noted that only six entries will be contacted for the final live cooking show at Ajao Estate in Lagos, to be held on the 19th of October, 2024.
