CELEBRATING CITIZEN JONES 50TH UNBROKEN YEARS IN BROADCASTING



Over the weekend in Lagos , Citizen Jones Usen committee In partnership with Enterprise Television celebrated Citizen Jones 50th unbroken years as a Broadcaster in Nigeria and the Launch of Citizen Jones Selected Prologues.

The occasion which brought many ace broadcasters and Television Veterans together, opened up with prayers as Prof. Ndinika from the Mass Communication department of the University of Lagos, took the key note address. 

In her address, she threw an exposer on who Citizen Jones Usen is....Tracing Jones career background from 1974 at Radio Nigeria, she unveiled Jones ability to utilize Television in informing and engaging his audience keeping them captivated.

Affirming his five (5) decades of broadcasting excellence and his unparalleled service in Journalism and developmental communication. In her words.... "Citizen Jones Usen is a man behind the microphone with unique qualities".          Noting his contributions to the broadcast and Television industry.

Ace media Veteran Sunny Irabor of " Sunny Irabor Live" (SIL) who Chaired the occasion described Jones as one who says the truth the best way he could , which has always been his philosophy through his broadcasting career.


The Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Television Barr. Evans Ufeli in his speech citied Citizen Jones as a man worthy of emulation been one of the motivating forces that encouraged him into the media world sequent his involvement in honouring Citizen Jones who, have demonstrated Professionalism in broadcasting and Journalism.

The likes of Seyi Martins, BabaJide, Comrade Johnson Amaru and others spoke well of the celebrant noting that Journalism is not just a job but a vocation worthy of verging into.


Unveiling his book" Citizen Jones Selected Prologues", the chairman set off the launching which witnessed the high and mighty in the media world throwing in their little support including those in Diaspora who were showcased at the event all showered the celebrant with high esteemed accolade in his impaction to the younger generation of broadcasters.


The CEO of Enterprise Television kicked off the award ceremony which witnessed many media veteran's receiving merit awards of recognition of which the celebrant Citizen Jones was not left out.


The event came to an end with the celebrant appreciating all who made out time to honor his invitation with their presence and finance.
