NIGERIA ENHANCES BILATERAL RELATIONS WITH SOUTH AFRICA AS BOTH PRESIDENTS MEET IN JOHANNESBURG

 South Africa and Nigeria Presidents Meet, Underscore Need for Stronger Partnership


South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa visited Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu in a private meeting on Thursday in Johannesburg to discuss enhancing bilateral relations between both countries.  

President Ramaphosa expressed his gratitude to President Tinubu for attending his second-term inauguration.

Meanwhile, President Tinubu had noted that President Ramaphosa’s inaugural speech captured most of the challenges faced by African countries and the need for more collaboration among leaders and citizens to provide solutions.

Both leaders underscored the need for a stronger partnership between Nigeria and South Africa.

Ramaphosa was re-elected on June 14, 2024, after the African National Congress (ANC) and the Democratic Alliance formed a Government of National Unity.
